Shop Floor Foreman

Well Bilt Industries USA, LLC, is seeking a Working Shop Floor Foreman with proven experience. The primary role is supervising, training, and managing the labor on the shop floor using the ERP systems we have in place; creating maintenance and work schedules; overseeing work to anticipate, detect, and address factors that impede operations; and enforcing safety regulations and protocols. A shop foreman’s job involves strong leadership skills, specific knowledge of the shop’s industry, and knowledge of all proper job site health and safety policies. This is a working position, and the foreman is not just a supervisor. Welding knowledge is a must.

Detailed Information

HOURS: Monday – Thursday (6 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.) (Four 10-hour days); Some Fridays, if necessary and a willingness to occasionally travel.

COMPENSATION: Commensurate with experience and skills. Your current abilities and willingness to learn will be your advancement control. Once trained, overtime is available. Health insurance after 90-days; dental offered; paid vacation; paid holidays.

Responsibilities:

  • Recruits and hires new shop employees through our resources, testing and knowledge for fabrication.
  • Provides employee orientation and ongoing training with respect to equipment, safety, and process and procedures.
  • Creates and manages employee daily, weekly and monthly schedule and ensures employees are clocked in and out properly.
  • Oversees daily, weekly & monthly work of employees and assigns duties to shop workers.
  • Warns, disciplines, or terminates employees not working to company standards.
  • Assigns work orders and is the liaison between the engineering team and the shop workers.
  • Quality Control: Reviews work completed to ensure it is up to quality standards. Ensures quality is everyone’s responsibility.
  • Enforces all health and safety policies in the shop including training, safe work environments, housekeeping.
  • Ensures that the shop area is clean, organized, and free of dangerous or hazardous material.
  • Ensures that all deadlines are met and communication is made with parties if necessary.
  • Assists employees in on-site health and safety emergencies; addresses and resolves personnel issues and complaints.
  • Oversees the inspection, repair, and maintenance of equipment.
  • Is qualified to operate shop machinery such as welders, forklifts, overhead cranes, or manufacturing equipment.

  • Possesses detailed knowledge of steel processing & fabrication industry.
  • Exhibits strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Possesses solid analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Demonstrates awareness of all health and safety protocols.
  • Is able to remain calm and clear-headed in an emergency.
  • Manages time efficiently and is able to multi-task effectively.
  • Pays attention to detail and demonstrates strong organizational skills.
  • Possesses computer skills with the ability to navigate Microsoft Office products (ie: Word and Excel), conduct basic internet research, and has experience working in an ERP.
  • Is able to read and interpret work orders and blueprints.
  • Communicates clearly and effectively and is capable of translating industry terminology into straightforward terms for explanatory purposes.
  • Previous safety and/or hazmat training a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Willingness to expand their technical understanding to attend training for software’s, OSHA courses, etc.
  • MUST have a clean background with no felonies.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Warehouse, factory, or shop experience required.
  • Managerial or supervisory experience required.
  • Is qualified to operate heavy machinery.

Work Environment:

  • The majority of working hours will be spent on the job participating in and overseeing repairs and maintenance.
  • Shift may vary from day to evenings.
  • Weekend hours maybe required.
  • Standard 40-hour workweek applies however this is a management position that will require the manager to work longer at times. This is a salary exempt position.
  • Areas of the factory and off site locations may be hazardous so protective gear must be worn when as required by OSHA and other governing authorities.
