Experienced Commercial Painter

Detailed Information

HOURS: Monday – Thursday (6 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.) (Four 10-hour days)

COMPENSATION: Commensurate with experience and skills (approx. $25-30 per hour). Health insurance after 90-days; dental offered; paid vacation; paid holidays.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, media blasting, sanding, and priming them as needed.
• Mix paints and coatings to the appropriate color, consistency and reduction as required by manufacturer.
• Apply paints and coating to the surface using various techniques such as spraying, airless, HPVL, or pressure pot, colling, and/or brushing.
• Ensure that paint is applied evenly and without drips, runs or other imperfections.
• Maintain and clean painting equipment to ensure that it remains in good working order.
• Follow all safety procedures and regulations when working with paints, coatings, and cleaning chemicals.
• Ensure that all painting products meet the company’s quality standards.
• Keep accurate records of all painted products, including the type of paint used, the amount applied, and all other relevant information.
• Communicate with other members of the production team to ensure that the painted products are produced in a timely manner and on schedule.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least 2 years of experience in industrial painting and coatings, including but not limited to three-part epoxy, preferably in a steel manufacturing plant or related industry.
• Excellent knowledge of paint types and coatings, as well as their proper techniques.
• Ability to mix and match paint colors to achieve the desired finish.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work accurately.
